Yes you can take a motorhome and you book a camping pitch but be quick they sell out fast!

Huge camping site there, they run a courtesy bus from the camp to the site, no electric, if you have bikes you can cycle in, great week end and well worth going.

They have several camping fields available and some (most) will have electric available but it is expensive.

Do I need to book grandstands as well, are they really necessary?

You bet. But have a stiff drink before booking.

It's not really a "grandstand" sort of event, it's walk 'till you drop there is so much to see.

"Other stuff" !!!! Wash your mouth out. This is all about money and cars and bikes and more money and more cars and more bikes. What did you expect, knitting stalls ?

Unless you are a multi-millionaire you are bound to be thinking, "god where do they get all that money from".

And unless you are a multi-multi-millionaire and well connected you don't get near the best bits, inside The House.

We do not book stands, don't find the need as so much do and see, I wonder off and look around while Ed watches the racing, I think everyone interested in cars should go at least once.

I wouldn't bother with the grandstands either as the event is so popular you would struggle to find a seat anyway. Take good footwear 'cos there's lots of walking to do and a lot of it (at least 50%) is uphill and its a bloody steep hill!

We've done it twice. It's similar each year so a good gap is needed or we my try the revival next.

You've got to hate that Marsh, he's got a race track, a hill climb and an airfield all his own. And possibly the Rolls Royce factory.

Also got to admire him for making the most of it and letting in the plebs.
