Glenmore near Aviemore. They have a whole forest to roam in, a sandy beach and loch to play in/on, can hire canadian canoes and go exploring, ride up the mountain on a funicular, feed reindeer up on the mountain. That is all without going far from the site - you then have Aviemore and surrounding area to visit including the Highland Wildlife park where they can see animals and birds such as Capercaillie, Polar Bears and the Amur Tiger.

Edinburgh (our grandchildren's favourite) - bus ride into city, the Castle, Museum of Scotland (free and one of the best we have ever been to for children) etc etc

Depends what your children want/expect when they are away.

Hi Mark have a look at Brighouse bay near Kirkcudbright in Dumfries and Galloway, its ideal for kids in all weathers. It has a lovely beach and loads of walks and in wet weather as it tends to rain here a few days in the year, they have a swimming pool and games room including 10 pin bowling.

A few years now
We have x2 little ones-

This time of year the big sites (that's the ones where there is more than a tap and a loo) --daily indoor entertainment/ evening doo`s / out door parks / swimming pools / restaurants / Bars---- all in the dry .

Also cheap now as out of season:thumb:

Since 2012 but longer in my dreams
Hello Mark,as already said Haven sites are great for kids, good entertainment, indoor pools and close to beaches. Our kids love them and there are always lots of other kids for them to play with. There is a good one,Thorpe Park just below Grimsby, there's a theme park next door called Fantasy Island
Which for a one off entry fee gives a great day out with decent roller coasters and kids rides. You can get discounted tickets on line and take your own picnic in.

Another good place not too far from you is Flamingo land, near Pickering, again indoor pool and evening entertainment. If you go off season you get free unlimited entry to the park and zoo included in the price of your pitch.:thumb:
There's a good pub in the zoo bit with a big outdoor play area that does a good Sunday lunch.
