At long last, I have had my "Log Book" returned from the DVLA. for the new to us M/Home .

On checking it actually states the permitted max trailer weight (Braked) and the max trailer weight (Un braked)... Which is 2000 KLG and 750 klg respectfully... I knew the 750, as that is the norm.. Well pleased with the Max weight as well... :thumb:

Cant say I have ever seen this on any of the other log books we have had before...

I never noticed before either but just check our V5 documents. There are no details included on the V5 for our van (03 reg) but they are there for the car (08 reg).

I guess it's something that has been introduced in recent years.

My V5 from Jan 2012 has the gross weight and trailer weights listed.
Not sure when they started it...

It has always been on German log books, so I presume its another EU thing.

I think it depends who inputs the data into their database.

if it was a jobsworth it may all be included.
if it was the tea lady then it will have bugger all.

some of my logbooks have a gross weight, others dont....none have train weight or trailer details.

I know it says 2000 kg but what is the gross train weight. Here in Belgiym we are told it is 6000kg if yoy run at the max gross weight 5000 kg you can only tow 1000 kg here.

Just had a look on my V5 and there is no mention of trailer weights.
First registration was 25/7/12.
Having said that, they did cock up the revenue weight, number of axles and colour twice, so I am not surprised there is bugger all information on the V5.

It does state on the EC Certificate of Conformity that came with the MH :
TPMLM 5,000kg (Technically permissible maximum laden mass)
TPMMofC 6,000kg (Technically permissible maximum mass of combination)
Drawbar Trailer -------
Centre Axle Trailer 1,000kg
Unbraked Trailer 750kg

So that is what I will go by.

I had a conversation with a Funster who had been told by Auto-Trail that if he only loaded his MH to 4,500kgs, instead of the max of 5,000kgs, he could then tow 1,500kgs instead of 1,000kgs.
I know what my answer to this was, but I would be very interested to hear other opinions.
