Anyone recommend a bread maker to use at home.

We had one for years until I blew it up:cry:

It was a Prima model making proper sized loafs, the right way round not
tall if you know what I mean.

Cheers

Panasonic turns out well every time, we were looking around a restored flour mill a few years ago, and the man recommended Panasonic and we have not been disappointed .

whats wrong with just using a normal oven ?

I'd have to kick the Mrs out of bed about 4 hours earlier so I have fresh bread for my morning toast and coffee that she brings (passes ) to me in bed. breadmaker you can load and set so it is done ready for the morning so she only has to take it out of the machine then do the toast and coffee.:winky:

Call me Dave has a Panasonic but recommends artisan flour milled in the Cotswolds. He still doesn't know the price of a pint of milk or a white sliced loaf.

Panasonic for me!

Had a Panasonic bread maker for years and perfect bread every time! If you like granary bread, try Wessex Mills six seed flour 50/50 with plain white bread flour. First thing I do when I get home from travelling is put on the bread maker. It takes about 2 minutes to put ingredients in, and 4 hours to bake. Perfecto!

1 year on and loving it!
Been through about four bread makers of different makes.

Now have a Panasonic and oh my! What a difference! It's quiet, works exceptionally well and the bread and paddle don't get stuck together very often either! They are pricey, but very good value. I use mine for gluten free bread - tricky at the best of times! No problem with the Panasonic.

We also had a Prima that made good bread till it wore out, replaced that with a Panasonic, excellent bread as well. When that went the journey we couldn't source a Panasonic so opted for the Kenwood, similar results.

The Panasonic is the Honda generator of bread makers, yes they are other bread makers, but IMO none quite as good as the Panasonic. We make around 200 loaves a year in ours. A loaf works out about 45p each Dave:thumb:

You sound like the ideal candidate to test Cotswold Crunch flour for the members. How does it compare with your regular brand. I for one and I'm sure there are many more who would be very interested in your findings.:thumb:

Ours is a Kenwood bought via Amazon.
Not bought a loaf all year now!::bigsmile:
We cheat and use bread mixes on the ECO setting (about 1 hour).
Tried all sorts of mixes but IMHO, the Tesco white crusty loaf is the best we've found so far.
5ver smells gorgeous inside!:ROFLMAO:

We have a Panasonic too, bought my Dad one for Christmas a couple of years ago and he makes perfect bread every time too.
We also bought a cheap Aldi one for the van ( £25) Both make good bread, but the Panasonics is much gooder.....opp5......

You get a recipe book with the breadmaker. Large french white loaf is great.
Allan

Oh sorry, forgot the recipe. This is what I do. " Mrs A, can we have a large white loaf tomorrow please"..........
