Insurance companies are weird. Caravan club quoted me £900 + because the wife had a minor dink last year. Comfort did it for £313. They drive me mad.

All you can do is shop around, and never take your present insurers renewal figure as they will always reduce it a lot if you can show someone else will undercut them.

oh no they dont if they want you off their books.

i have a nissan navara as my daily driver. last year the renewal came through, asking for £1600 on what was previously £300. i phoned them to point out their mistake but the company stuck to its price as they had decided to list 4x4 pickups as high risk. eventually got cover for £250 fully comp protected no claims. theres no logic to insurers, as im certainly a low risk and no boy raceroh:
