New year at the Races part deux.
From Saturday 28th December 2013 - Wednesday the 1st January 2014
Well folks, what can I say, it's back.....
After last year's brilliant New Year's party, a few people threatened Nikki & I with instant death if we did not re-do the event.
So for one final time, it's your chance to say good bye 2013 and hello 2014.
The pro forma is as follows. Sadly with twice the amount of vans that will want to come I will start a reserve list and beg for additional spaces. However, Ive tried several times already and they are adamant the number is 30.
On arrival on the Saturday--- Park up, get the van ready for 4 nights and then Join us early evening in the Hall/Bar which we have hired for a Mulled wine welcome. Speak to your other motorhomefun friends and maybe play a board game or two, relax and just enjoy yourself.
Sunday- A day of leisure to look around the town of Uttoxeter, and join us in the hall/bar for a little night cap, maybe even a little Jam session with our musical people.
Monday-- Wake up in the morning (hopefully) and be drawn in by the smell of cooking and enjoy a nice Pig in Bap or Veggie option served and cooked by Nikki and Myself and the rest of the helpers.
Tuesday- This is the day when it really happens, I hope you have slept well !!! It's race day at Uttoxeter, The new year's eve special, starting at around 11 am until last race at 4pm. Your chance to see If Haganap's tip of the day, (Hectors House) is still running from last year. Get yourself something to eat at the various places around the circuit or even book the feasts that will be on offer via the website.
Then, get back to your van, get changed in to whatever you like, but we like a bit of fancy dress, no theme, just anything you like. Try and beat Bill the Drill's Scottish dress as he rings the New year bell. Here's some ideas, 50s 60s 70s 80s pop outfits, aka, toyah, super tramp etc.
Bring over something you have made or bought, can be sausage rolls to a full blown Chilli con carni put it with the rest and eat dance and be happy.
There is no bar, you bring your own drinks, hence saving a fortune.
then it's a champagne reception (connoisseurs be warned, I use the word Champagne lightly) and and and

---in to the new year, no restriction on when we close up, you just keep dancing and singing to our entertainers, Janine and Barrie and whoever else they get off the floor and dancing.
Then New year's day..... Pack up, sober up and drive on home. Those wishing to stay New Years day night, may do so at an extra cost but the hall will not be available.

The cost for 4 nights camping, 2 race tickets to the racing (kids go free) all entertainment champagne reception and pig in bap is
£87.90p per van (singles knock the price of a race ticket off)
The Rules Please read before committing---
This is important.
There is Toilet facilities and water no showers.
Generators will be present and welcomed, However we have the facility to plug them in and park them a long long way from the van. We will have emergency electric hook up for disabled guest's needing to charge something up only and not a constant supply.
Sadly due to limited space I have room for only 2 RV's and one has been taken.
We will be mainly on Hard standing I anticipate everyone being on Hard standing, we may have to move a few feet on Race day to allow access, again depends on where we get put.
Deposits will be required for this event. Nikki and I have to outlay money prior to booking sadly. Therefore a deposit of £20 is required upon booking via paypal or by requesting my address by PM. The deposit is non refundable and is there to secure your place and allow me to put a deposit down on hall hire and ticket hire.
Frequently asked questions----
Is there electric hook up? No but plenty of spare generators to be leant around Im sure.
Can I just come to the New Years party and park up elsewhere? Sadly not, the access is closed with security, only those within will be able to come.
Ive never been on a meet before, can I still come? To dam right you can.
What;s the entertainment? Janine and Barrie will provide it, it will be alsorts if last year was anything to go by, disco equipment along with some singing funsters.
Can I just come for 2 nights of the rally? Yes you can, however, the cost will remain the same as if you were coming for all 4.
Will you be singing Haggers? You betcha
Is alcohol allowed? why of course my friends...
Are Dogs allowed? Yep they sure are, and there's some wonderful places to go and visit with your dog, some great walking around the race course. HOWEVER PLEASE NOTE... DOGS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE COURSE ON RACE DAY WHILST THE HORSES RUN. THEY MUST BE KEPT IN THE VAN. THE RACES NORMALLY LAST ABOUT 6 HOURS, YOU CAN GET POOCH OUT ON A LEAD FOR A WEE BETWEEN RACES.....
Do you do a buy one get one free? No
I want to come but don't want to join in at New Years as I don't like noise, loud people, music, any food, socialising, alcohol, kids, dogs and horse racing is cruel, can I still come. Why of course you can, but would you want to? :Cool:
How does the food work? It's what we call an American supper Jacobs table or what ever you like. You bring something over, we will bulk it up with a few savouries, put it out on the table and eat what you like.
