I am not good at fault finding but have done the following

Fault - Awning light doesn't

1. Checked bulbs, fitted 2 new LED some months ago, working fine last time out, refitted old bulbs still no light

2, checked all fuses near battery, all OK

3. took cover off switch no 12V there

That's it I have peaked, any more advice please, I am hoping / guessing there must be an inline fuse somewhere but it is going to be a nightmare to find unless one of you know where to look

Why am I spending £10 / year

Come on you lot, somebody must have an idea or at least an opinion, no replies in 7 days, what is going on?

I suggest looking at a wiring diagram.

If you don't have one I would suggest you email Hymer and ask for one. Useful things to have.

And you could try contacting Peter Hambilton, a highly thought of Hymer specialist (who is often rather busy).

Or how about a wind up torch until it is sorted somehow?

many many years! since I was a kid
the only people that can give a certain answer are others with the same model and year of Hymer

on a practical level i would say check all fuses again with a meter and if all are ok do a cupboard by cupboard search for another fuse/fuseboard. if nothing start at the switch and trace the wire back checking at each joint for 12v present

agreed.

a visual check may not be enough.

a fuse can 'soft' blow near the end of the fusible link and may not be visible but a meter will 'see' it.

I do now have it booked in for this and other things I can't do myself, virtually anything other than fill / empty wet bits!! even that is hard, we have a split on the fresh water filler.

Why is everything so hard to get at?? I have looked at trying to trace the wires for the light, as soon as I found they go down from the switch I gave in, it might take some serious dismantling, way beyond my skills. A wind up or battery light is sounding good right now

All the fuses I have found are blade fuses, I really struggle to get them out so use a multi meter I carry, which with fine point probes you can check continuity without removing

I fear an in line or hidden bank of fuses are still to be located

Hi, You said the fuses by the battery. Have you checked all of the fuses in the Electroblok? That is more likely

Not totally sure what the Electroblok is, but presuming it is the power supply regulator etc, this is next to my battery where the fuses i have tested are
