Electric bike insurance (1 Viewer)

I've been reading the threads about electric bikes with great interest and I'm sure someone knows the answers to my daft questions. If I take one to the continent, do they need any sort of insurance to use on the road? Also, if taking one to Morocco, would it need declaring as a vehicle at the wonderful border controls?

probably not compulsory, but i would have 3rd party/public liability insurance as a minimum.

Is that a new rule for Morocco, we used ours all over and had them on the back, of the motorhome the question of insurance never arose. We plan to take them on the 2014 trip so will follow it up.
