National Bacon Shortage (1 Viewer)

We are hearing of a national bacon shortage following a shopping trip yesterday evening. All Tesco’s shops are out of stock and have ordered fresh supplies from Denmark.

It appears that a certain funster at Malvern raided the store and left with 50kg of prime cuts.

In an apparently related incident 100’s of pigs were found cowering in their pens afraid that they be asked to make a one way trip

It has also been reported that for the first time in years the local Heinz factory has worked through the night to restore ketchup supplies.

The normal smell of Cowsh*t that has pervaded for the last few days has been replaced by the tempting aroma of sizzling pork.

Can't buy decent bacon in Denmark they send it all to England, we only get streaky in Denmark and the Faroes. :Sad:

its amazing it comes to cornwall gets prepared then delivered all over uk . drove trucks delivering it 250miles unload drive back empty so you can leave the trailer ready for the next ones as fast as you can . sometimes swap drivers without turning off engine . 1000ml a day those trucks do on average . 6 days a week.

Just hunted out a pack of finest Scottish back bacon from Stevenson's of Barrhead (near Glasgow) from the fridge. Despite the Scottish bacon and the tartan on the wrapper, it has gone slightly south of the border for packing in Newcastle upon Tyne

If there was a national shortage of bacon, there would be a very distressed man in our house

Too much fat on streaky bacon, it's ok for covering the turkey at Christmas time, keeps it nice 'n' moist:thumb: But for bacon butties, it's got to be smokey back for me
