Just Back from a great weekend with the MCC at Welland steam fair.

Today is the start of "Operation Benidorm"...
First thing is I need to book a ferry for this Thursday. :thumb:

Then get the van cleaned and tidied. Take out surplus items and re-load new essentials for Spain, inc tea bags and cider

Travelling down with Irene and grandkids, Mat and Lucy aged 8 and 6.
Having a few stop overs on route then it's 3 weeks at "Tonka Towers" in sunny Beni with the van in storage.

Will try and find new stopover places on the way to add to my current list..
Cant wait..

Bet when they scanned my passport it clocked up about 4 of me !!!!

Have you tried this parking place before? If not it might be worth a look:

Have a look on google. near SAINT GEOURS MAREMNE - just before a large roundabout off the A63 (before St VINCENT TYROSSE) on the D810 - Route de Bordeaux - before or next to a church. You can see other motor homes parked up in street view.

N 43 41' 30" - W 1 13' 73"

Thanks.. Andrew.. Noted, I have been through there as it looks very familiar on the google street map view.. I think I will be shooting off and across country for the Somport tunnel. The kids like the mountains and the long tunnel..

"D" day !!!

Departing at noon, for 8.15pm booked ferry, earlier if they let me on.:thumb:
Destination Benidorm..
Final checks and emergency Asda dash planned (more cider)..
Weather report looking good.

Will look for funsters on route and be back online about Monday ish, unless a McDonalds stop in France is made for free wifi.

No real problems just traffic issues.
Located a new Aire to use on my regular route :thumb:

Hi Steve, glad you made it OK. We're going to be down in Beni (and about) at the beginning of October until after the Fiesta. I'm interested in where you store your van when you're there. Will be flying home for Christmas and New Year and looking for somewhere safe to keep the van.
