Anyone know how much a new front windscreen is for a Hymer B544?

Just having a look now, not sure but I think i'm good for about 2000 with 100 excess.

I really hate myself at the moment. I had debugged the screen washed and waxed the van and leathered all the windows. Had a cuppa with my other half and then was was thinking I would leave Hoovering out the van until in the week but decided I would come out put her on the levellers and finish Hoovering.

Two things went wrong...
I over shot the ramps
I had put the ramps on the wrong mark (nearer the garage)

I think its called a chain of events.

Gutted yes, but I just checked my Insurance and Im covered so not feeling so bad now.

Just need to find out what to do and how quickly it gets sorted.

I said we might not make it to the Northern Show but if its an easy job maybe we will, just don't know "what happens next" until I call my insurance.

It could have been that washing machine going into a spin that distracted you or similar.
I did the same some years ago, reversed into the open garage door, does make you swear.

The price and availability of A class windscreens is one of the things that made me decide against getting one.

It's a good job the garage door wasn't a couple of inches higher or you could have been in need of a new front roof panel.

I'm with Comfort.

Had a huge stone chip in centre of screen within 2 weeks of picking van up. Their 'preferred repairer' is Autoglass UK.

Windscreen replaced within 3 days, for the cost of £75 excess (Fiat Ducato). When I was having screen replaced, there was two Hymers at the depot having their screens replaced as well.

First class service from Comfort and Autoglass.

First class service.

Look on the bright side!

When you break something, you do it properly! As far as cracking the screen goes, that will take a lot to beat!

We all have these moments from time to time - all you can do is (after swearing) is laugh at it - it is all replaceable and no-one was hurt. That is the main thing - if you have a minor bump, it is better this way than knocking a neighbours car or similar.

On the bad side - you know you will be ribbed for years about trying to fit an A-Class into a garage!

Was she compassionate? Mine would have begun one of her lectures about being more careful which of course is just what you want to hear!
