We bring money to Spain on a regular basis and we use World First, just Google it, good rates first class service.

Hope that helps.

Hi Mike we have used Moneycorp.....a few times up £150,000 and also similar on Hifx £10,000...£20,000 to £50,000....and still using Hifx...it depends on what the rate it is at the time of transfer to who we use....both are very good....my sister has used moneycorp to to USA....very good...

BUT I can not comment on TRANSFERWISE...I have not heard of it...

Mike hope that helps you.

Transfer

Hi

Could I ask a question?

You pay your sterling to "these firms" and they wire the funds overseas - that is fine. What happens if the firm goes "pop" before they send your transfer?

All UK high street banks will do a transfer for you - you get commercial rates, not the cash rates that you see at the foreign till.

Be careful is my advice.

Get a rate from one of the firms mentioned and get one from your bank. I would be interested to know the differential and whether worth the "risk" (if there is a "risk", that is)

We have used Currencies Direct for every transfer since we came to France eight years ago. Excellent service, same day transfer, goes through their protected client account, a good percentage better on average than a high street bank.:thumb:

Look at their website - it would be worth ringing them to get a rate

I use www.currencyfair.com and they only charge £3/€3 per transaction no matter how much you transfer. Give them a looksey.:thumb:
Used to use Nationwide B/S but they charge £25 per transaction.
