Is there any way of getting the smell of dog out of a van, and in particular out of a mattress that had been used as a dog bed?
Failing that does anyone know how much or where you would get a replacement mattress. I imagine manufacturer would be extortionate.
Cheers all :thumb:

febreeze...lots of it!! and strategically placed smelly hang up things

but to get rid of it for good...the mattress will probably need changing as it is more than likely this that is causing the rest of the van to honk

Does the mattress fabric unzip...if yes take it off and wash it ....a lot of the motorhomes mattress are just made of foam...then change the foam and refit the washed mattress cover back on......if not zipped undo a seem and re-stitch afterwards.....:thumb: Job Done

Thanks for replies so far.
The cover doesn't unzip but undoing the stitching sounds like a good idea, along with a cheap memory foam type mattress.

started when I was 11 with my parents-forgot to stop!been real one since 1980!
Fullers Earth powder (from chemists) and a large plastic bag, Dust the FE on the mattress and place in the bag, seal then rub to massage the powder in and leave for as long as possible. Depending on how smelly it is repeat the process.
