That sounds bad.

Hope it has cleared up a bit now.

Might be worth a trip to the doc:thumb:

Cortizone injection in the shoulder works a treat:thumb::thumb:

If it works, great, but sometimes only temporary. I had a couple of cortizone treatments for a leg problem but it only treated the symptom not the cause (which turned out to be poor posture at work as a result a poorly set up work station) so didn't last.

Yep...right into the ball joint space ......been there twice.

First time took effect within hours....second took nearly two weeks :Eeek:

Wouldn't wish the cause or cure on anyone:RollEyes:

Same here J, never had a problem since the second one, mind you not on the tools anymore:thumb:

Had the same problem for almost 2 years now. I can't do anything physical at all. Just waiting until I can get somewhere to get to the docs. Last 2 years have been tricky due to mothers problems.

When it first happened I was in agony and my shoulder was seriously restricted in movement. I went onto ibuprofen and paracetamol which got it freed up and after 4-5 months was basically usable again. I can do anything that involves repetitive motions such as sanding, sweeping or washing windows as the next day I am in pain again. I also can't do anything above shoulder height.
It clicks now and again sometimes daily and that sends pain shooting through the joint...

You have my sympathy.

I can't wait to get it sorted once and for all.

Hope yours can be resolved quickly.

You could try Kinesiology, all to do with muscles and balancing the body:thumb:

Rob:thumb:

if it is frozen shoulder it isn't muscular.
It's an inflammation of the fluid filled 'cushion' within the joint
The more it's moved the more the inflammation and so on which restricts movement voluntarily/subcontiously to avoid pain

do you mean Applied kinesiology.

That's the practise... kinesiology is the study of.

Regardless...it won't work as fast or effectively as a cortisone injection.

And believe me, you want it fast. :roflmto:

Alternative to injection is brandy or red wine in large quantities .::bigsmile:

sounds good to me.....frozen shoulder can last up to two years if untreated, :winky::roflmto:
If its a frozen shoulder you have my sympathy as it is very painful and debilatiting. Mine was eventually cured with some magnetic therapy which the physio organised. It was just amazing and worked very quickly so after months of pain and not being able to do simple things with my right arm I had almost full movement again.

It could be due to a number of things...impingement, rotator cuff tear, calcium deposits, arthritis, neck problems...etc. An injection of local anaesthetic and steroid may settle things down, but you may require an ultrasound scan to see what the problem is...A course of physiotherapy is also recommended a week or so after injection...Sometimes the effects of the injection can last for months, sometimes it does not work at all, and sometimes you may need a further injection...Hope you get sorted out soon

Hi Tofo

I had the same problem about three years ago, it was constant agony I was initially prescribed diclofenac tablets and voltarol cream by my GP which only partially relieved the symptoms and took the edge off the pain.
My GP also referred me to the accupuncturist who practices at the surgery on the NHS.

I had several sessions of accupunture combined with cupping and felt the beneficial effects almost immediately after each session, the progress was gradual and required about six visits in total to acheive a complete cure. The symptoms have not returned to date and this had been an intermittent long term problem spanning twenty years or more.

The cupping creates a partial vacuum over the areas where nerves are trapped relieving the pressure at those sites and increasing blood flow to those areas, the downside is you are left with what can only be described as a circular " love bite " where the cup has been which could possibly lead to marital misunderstanding:roflmto:

I realise this method of treatment may not be for everybody but it worked for me and I would certainly use it if the problem presents itself again.

Cheers John:thumb:
