First of all a big thank you for the help in planning, we are now settled in to Apps Court Farm, what a find, we are parked in a quiet corner with Electric Hook up / Full 3 mifi and phone signal but best of all 25 yards from the Thames cycle path, we cycled to Hampton Court station for a reccy, lovely little village feel, so much to do, tomorrow we will cycle to Weybridge along the cycle path, it seems hard to believe we are so close to London and all for £18 a night with electric.

We are really pleased with the site, though to take full advantage of it I would say you need bikes, with bikes I think it is hard to beat. Will put some photos on in the next couple of days.

We are spending this weekend with friends in Teddington, just up the road from you. It is indeed a very nice part of the country. Enjoy:thumb:

We live about 5miles from where you are camped. Don't know if you know Kingston upon Thames but lots of good pubs/restaurants on the river. Lots of good river walks towards Teddington. Also, you are just a short walk to 'The Wier' another nice pub. I think it's to your left along the towpath. Have fun.

I see that you have already cycled to Hampton Court. If you cross over the bridge and pick up the towpath outside Hampton Court Palace it takes you all the way to Kingston. You can then either cross Kingston Bridge and explore or else turn left at end of towpath and enter into Hampton Court Park. On the other side of the road you can access Bushy Park - both worth a visit.

Being a lady she might prefer to pop into John Lewis before crossing Kingston bridge. :winky:

No idea where to go to first.

Today we are having a chill day (our age I think) yesterday we took ourselves of to London got on the train at Hampton Court straight through to Waterloo, and lo and behold to our surprise we were at Houses of Parliament /Big Ben / Buckingham Palace / London Eye and all with out any worry at all, had a picnic in the Park a shop in Oxford Street, had a excellent day.
One thing we have to say how lovely and helpful people were when we asked anything, everyone was so friendly looking forward to going in again. Putting some pictures on don't know what order they will come on though.

Another suggestion

Hello Carol, glad you had a great day - you must have been tired! If you want to stay closer to base, a nice bike ride is back on the towpath to Weybridge and either lock bikes up at small car park ( where towpath ends) and get ferry across to Shepperton where there is a nice pub - Thames Court. They do good food and great views from outside. The Thames towpath then follows this side of the Thames.

Rob

I should have said - I think you can take your bikes on the ferry.

Glad you are having a good time and enjoying London. I was born at Hampton Court and we were down there recently for my godsons wedding at Strawberry Hill and reception was in the lodge at Richmond Park.

Howie does not like London but I don't mind it at all as there fairly frequently with work.

Kind regards

Kath (and Howie)

Starting our second week now and decided to stay at Apps Court and keep Brighton for again as it is so handy here for us, so can take our time.

On Sunday they had the biggest car boot I have seen about 800 stalls including a Pink mobile hairdressers.

On Monday we cycled to Richmond Park for a picnic, 25 mile round ride, took our time and enjoyed it, on the way back we had a walk around Kingston on Thames.

This morning we went for a walk to Walton on Thames it was a lovely morning and we came across this baby dove sitting in the blossom. Liked Walton nice shops and found a Indian that does eat as much as you like buffet for Sunday hope its ok.

Tomorrow should see us on the Train to have a look as a couple of museums.

Still got so much to see and do it will take us the rest of the month.

Hi Carol, so glad you got to see Richmond Park:thumb:, If your off to the museums the Natural History and the Science are my favourites, just around the corner from each other. Harrods is just down the road if your feeling flush, or just take a stroll through Hyde Park and see the Peter Pan monument, Lady Diana water memorial and the serpentine.

If you don't mind heights take the glass lift in Bishopsgate to Sushisamba restaurant for the best views of London (lift is free, food is expensive)just tell em you got lost:ROFLMAO:)

Have fun

Thank you for that, it's the plan for tomorrow, just trying to work our journey out, if we get off at Wimbledon, do you know which underground should we get to the museums,
We can't believe how quickly the time is going.

Easy

From Wimbledon it's on the District Line direct to South Kensington. Simples::bigsmile: Assuming you are going to museums.

Carol do as roblee has said and take the tube from wimbledon to south Kensington, come out the station turn right and museums are at the top of the road.
The 14 bus takes you to PUTNEY just outside the station but you won't get to see the wombles of Wimbledon:cry:Uncle bulgaria will be most disappointed:ROFLMAO:.
