Similar product but it looks like they can be just removed by hand so easily stolen

A plug for Jims flashers. I had new tyres before Peterborough, and after a couple of days the light was flashing on the front nearside. It turned out to be a very slow leak around the valve, losing about 1 psi per day. Now fixed but without the flasher it could have got dangerously low without it being noticed, I don't suppose many of us check our tyre pressures every day.

similar but inferior product.

battery life of approx 2 years and batteries not replaceable.

once pressure is initially set it cannot be altered or reset.

Jims have replaceable batteries, can be reset to another pressure and are lockable.

Ours is seriously more robust. designed to last ten years on a HGV truck and that one is flawed in a number of areas.

It is a throwaway product, once the batteries are dead, you throw it away as they cannot be changed. So, if for example a soft tyre goes a little soft and the alert goes unnoticed say because you were not away in the van, then that is it. £1.50 on a new battery is much better than throwing the whole unit away.

They can only be calibrated once. The first time you screw it onto a tyre the pressure is set forever, if you got it wrong, or you changed vehicle, you may as well throw it away, you will never really know what it is calibrated to anyway.

It does not lock, without a decent locking system they disappear fast.

Essentially it looks the similar and purports to do the same job as our TPMS but it does not even come close.

Forgot to add that ours are guaranteed for two years. Given the hostile environment it operates in, I was surprised when the manufacturer gave us such a long warranty, especially on buses and trucks etc. But that is testament to how well they are made.

Were just off to Peterborough to demo them to a few truckers:Smile: That's if we can drag em away from their All-day Breakfasts:Smile:

since 2007, 25 years tuggin before that.
One of ours was flasing last week as we arrived on an Aire but by the time we saw it the tyre was noticably flat. Thats not the fault of the sensor, but due to the fact that you cannot see then whilst driving. We are keen to find out about the RF version, more info please.

We are down at lake bala for a few days, flashy thing was flashing when we were in Shrewsbury, blew it up and kept an eye to it. After journey to bala flashing again, tyre looked OK but was down 5psi. Visited local tyre shop in bala, new valve, and jobs a good'n. Flashy things saved the day:thumb:
