not long enough
Evening all, my used Hymer came with a single length of hose to connect to the waste water outlets. It is a nice simple push fit and goes on both grey and black outlets. Does anybody know where i can buy another length? if I have a long enough hose with me I am then confident I should never need it!!

It all depends what diameter hose you want and what fittings it comes with. 28mm convoluted hose is kept by most caravan shops and other sizes are available on eBay and other places but it isn't cheap, £7 - £15 per metre for example.

There are purpose made extensions like This One available but again not cheap.

If flexibility isn't important, ordinary plastic pipe plus appropriate push fittings from somewhere like Wickes are a heck of a lot cheaper. I keep some in my garage for draining the grey tank when we get home (into the same drain that sink waste goes to).

I would try your local industrial hose supplier.

Industry uses all sorts of different types and diameters. If you take a sample along, you might be surprised how cheap it can be compared to a motorhome/caravan dealer.

We all know that the price doubles when you prefix anything with the word 'motorhome'!:winky:

Thanks all, a problem shared as they say, nice simple solutions, mine is about 50mm so probably not a standard caravan accessory, but I am looking for local hose suppliers as soon as done here. David

Mine is 38mm ID 45mm OD with fittings that screw on to the ribbing of the hose and then push fit on the MH outlets, grey and black are both the same size.

Hose supplier it needs to be I reckon or third mortgage from Hymer

Thanks again to all replies

If your Hymer has the same system as mine (but I think yours is newer) then it is an Ultradrain unit. The push-on hose is available from CAK in Kenilworth (bottom of page 21 in their 2013 catalogue). Call and ask them about joining two extensions together - I think you will need a male-to-male short pipe.

As ever Philip your knowledge and help is invaluable, I do have as you predicted exactly as listed in the catalogue link, I have sent them an email query. Ideal would be a female connector on discharge end then no need for adaptors.

On a related issue, how long a hose would you expect the black tank to discharge through? I thought there might be a pump somewhere, but it appears to depend on gravity totally. or a very quiet pump!!

I have just thought that a rigid section of 38mm pipe will also make an adaptor and extension at same time, just need it short enough to fit back inside outside locker.

It is wrong to gloat and so I ask you all for forgiveness but...

...on my classic 1987 Hymer 660S I have both a grey water and black water extension pipes as standard with a dedicated location for each on the chassis...

Things aren't like they used to be hey?

I cannot really comment on that as mine does not have a 'black' tank; I have merely the lowly Thetford C200 cassette. However, I think I would like to have a pretty long hose if using it to discharge s**t - I'd try to keep the van as far away from the slurry tank as possible.
