Why go all the way to the top when Dumfries and Galloway has it all and a lot quieter

Don't forget your thermals. We are having a blizzard here at the moment and the area is white. Temperature down to 4 degrees.
Hope you enjoy, sod the weather that's my motto.

5 years, feel free to ask me about the Carado!!
Origin of the battered Mars bar at the Carron chippie in Stonehaven ...or so they claim.....enjoy. Dont forget Slains castle at Cruden bay if you are into old ruins, and of course Dunnottar Castle, which is a beauty.....This coastline up to Moray is being industrialised with huge wind turbines on and off shore...see it while you can in it's natural unspoilt beauty.

....... it's very wet up here in Moray ......

In fact, April has been incredibly dry!! This month we have totted up around 32 mm of rain. Compare that to last year's 155 mm :rain:
But - April has certainly been very disappointing, with low temperatures (This month's average is 5 degrees) and seemingly incessant wind makes it feel even colder!! But I'm a great believer in weather balancing out, and with May just a couple of days away .......
Finally - Where in Scotland do you get "Fish-eagles" ??

Yes, the sea-eagles are doing really well in Scotland - upwards of 60+ breeding pairs now, with a recent release of 80+ birds from a location down in Fife, now being seeing regularly across to the west :thumb:

From Aug 2007
then tommorrow take our time making our way to stonehaven .

Grand place.

From there turn inland across to Banchory then along the Dee to Breamar. Double grand.

Then back a bit, up to Tomintoul to a grand campsite in Grantown on Spey then do the Whisky Trail.

If the weather is kind this is as good as it gets.
