Received a letter today from the MIB which is the Motor Insurance Bureau. They stated that according to them my vechile is not insured and does not appear on the register.
Obviously, I know it is but the instructions were If it is insured I must contact my insurance immediately in order to ask them why it does not appear on the register. It states that I will not show on the register of insured veciles. Subsequently this could lead to the police seizing my vehicle if found being used on the road.
Quite a frightening thought.
So I rang Safeguard insurance all in a tiz. The nice gentleman on the phone said " oh dear, thats right you are not on the register. When you renewed in December we had a little computer glitch and we have had a few phone calls from customers whom have had a letter. No problem sir, I will resend the information to MIB and DVLA immediately...
So if you want to check and be assured you are on the register please use the link below. It costs nothing and could save you the misfortune of being stopped by the police and telling them your insured when you don't appear on the database.
Ive been advised to keep both my letter and my insurance doccument with me untill such a time when I appear on the register. Probably about 7 days.
