GLOMEX DISCOVERY dome system (1 Viewer)

Has anyone out there bought and fitted the Glomex dome satellite system. Would be interested in any feedback from those who have bought this system. It seems a good price for £1050 and would like to have feedback on the ease and reliability of signal pick up and if and where in Europe it has been used.

Looking at the spec, the profile seems quite low.. And to paraphrase Scotty from star trek, you canna change the laws of physics

Put in simple terms, the bigger the dish, the more 'gain' it has, the better it works further south

I have looked at footprints and to me they look a bit optimistic .. And then I noticed a rather natty bit that most folk would not realise was important..

Not 100% sure as they MAY be talking about something I know nothing about, but it looks to me as if the tests were done with extremely short feeder leads to maximise the signal delivered to the signal meter..
And looking at all the info I can find, a lot of the footprint expectations seem to be based more on maths and expectations than tests and reports ( which to be fair is pretty usual )

For me, there is no replacement for physical size.. Again, as I have before, I would recommend the Oyster 80cm if you are considering travelling too far south, south east or indeed east from the UK.

We have one fitted to our hobby and find it very good,our last van had a camos fitted but dident perfom as well as the glomex.Inoticed 2 new glomex domes for sale on ebay yesterday at £899. ps we had signal in Italy last year.
