A few years now had a break but back with a MH now
Hi anyone any ideas where to get a pay as you go dongle for the internet in France? I have tried several shops and just get the normal shrug of the shoulders. I went into an orange shop and they thought they sold them but could not find them. When I'm in the UK I use3 but they dont cover France. I'm sat outside a bar at the moment using there free wifi but would prefer to have my own connection. I'm sure I have seen a post on here about PAYG but cant find it now!

I have a dongle which I unlocked myself free of charge.

In France I have used an "Mobicarte" sim from an Orange store.
They did require photo ID (passport or photo D/L).

You have to follow the instructions which are in French to get it onto the correct data Tariff.

If you don't speak French there is a web page somewhere with pics and instructions..

I'm out and about just now so just posting on my iPad..

If you want the link I can post it later. :thumb:

I got mine from the French equivalent of Vodaphone which is SFR.

I topped up at various SFR shops and some supermarkets.

This link has English instructions.

It's from last year but I "think" the procedure is still up to date, it's been a while since I did mine.....

This doesn't help you now but take a look at togglemobile.co.uk

Reasonable data charges and mobile calls plus no charge to receive incoming calls. Great for France and Spain but NOT for Portugal.
