Guess who's booked the ferry for 07:30 on Friday?

"We therefore advise our customers of the potential for long delays between Thursday morning and Saturday morning due to the likely knock-on effect of the disruption and queuing."
It said passengers are being given the option of sailing before the industrial action begins, or to delay their departure until Saturday when there will be spare capacity.

french union's are the same as our's,, a bunch of greedy 2 faced 3ankers. if the workers don't think they are getting paid enough, WHY don't they find a job which pays what they want. same applies to teachers, council workers etc.

But The French always have a strike on bank Hols::bigsmile:

I know - we once got caught in Calais by a fishermen's blockade. The trouble is Easter falls at the start of the school hols this year so if we didn't set off tomorrow there'd be no point trying until Tuesday, and that's a lot of days wasted.

The plan was to get the ferry early Fri then hammer on down to Futuroscope's parking for the night. Next morning an early flit to the coast in time to bag an Aire spot before they fill up for the weekend.

It's going to be difficult enough getting to Dover from NW England tomorrow evening, especially if Operation Stack is put in place - now it looks like Friday's going to be spent queueing in Dover, and we'll be turning up on the coast sometime Sunday.

Ho hum - still better to travel hopefully than not at all, and at least we're better equipped for queuing than all those travelling in cars.

We are booked on the 9.15pm Thursday night. Looks like we will be spending some time at Dover docks as well.
