Heading to France on Sunday. Have 3 nights at a site near Saint Quentin. Can anyone recommend any Passions or aires within a couple of hours South. No idea where we are heading. Just wondered if people have any favourites.

Thanks

Lin

Assuming you're talking about the Saint Quentin NE of Paris with the canal and impressive basilica, there's free overnight MH parking east of Troyes beside a huge lake at Mesnil Saint Pere (Google Maps 48.255723,4.340973). That's about 140 miles' driving along the A26. No service point, but no charge either. Looks like an interesting place to spend a day, especially if you've got bikes. The visitor information centre is on the lakeside just a short walk from the parking area.

A mapped panoramic photo what I took last summer can be found here - click it to see a pan and zoom version.

As a point of trivia, there's also free overnight parking in Saint Quentin, opposite the Police station on the Ave du General de Gaulle next to the canal (Google Maps 49.842774,3.29735) - again no services.

Hi don't know what way your planning on going but can recommend the Aire at Beaune just south of Djon. The aire is just a car park on the edge of town. It sits beside the Lac which has lovely walks and cycle paths round it. It's about 10 mins easy walk to town centre which is a lovely old town and has a castle didn't visit so can't comment.

We stayed on the Aire in the idle of July so was full after 4 pm and people who turned up later than that just used the car park next door and where away by 8 am so no problems. Right across from the Aire is a McDonalds so wifi there or in your mh if you pick up signal, there is also a ten pin bowling alley across the road. When we stayed on the aire a group of teenagers where hanging around the skate park and by 9pm they where all away and back next night but caused no problems or noise at all.
About 200yards up the road is the municipal swimming pool with both indoor and out including water slides we had a good bit of fun here and if you want a good shower for a coupl of euros :ROFLMAO:.

If you need any more info feel free to ask.

Hi we are also heading to France on Sunday morning providing we make it to the tunnel through the blizzards!

Nothing booked so looking at the forecast we will head SW, 1st night probably La Suze sur Sarth then possibly Mortagne sur Girronne.

Unfortunately it only takes up to 8 metres, we are over that. Thanks anyway.
