Guys van you give advice please,

I have a 94 Burstner Ducato six berth, she is a lovely van but has now developed a 60 a day Marlborough habit ( smokes all the time) engine starts and revs lovely, but lots of blue smoke and a loss of power. She is the 2.5d engine, I want to keep the van as I love the layout, does the engine need replacing?

Sounds like you may have a broken piston ring or worn cylinder bores. Or even a valve problem.
Blue smoke is normally a sign of burning oil. Have you checked your oil level lately. I would recommend you keep an eye on it.
If you know a friendly garage near you it may be worth getting them to do a pressure test on the cylinders.

I'm sure someone else will come up with more answers, but don't start throwing away the engine yet. All is not lost. :thumb:

Try a dose of Ametech Engine Restorer. Its available on ebay and it works. Its not cheap but within 1000 miles it will cure it if you do exactly as it says on the tins, as long as there are no broken piston rings.

If its a stuck injector it would be black smoke
If its not a broken piston ring its more likely to be a valve stem seal

might be an idea to have a looksee around your turbo for any sign's of oil?
if there is, your turbo main seal or bearing has gone or going:Sad:
could also be a blocked engine breather.
normal way to check if rings are worn is look for back pressure do this by starting engine and remove oil fill cap if its blowing badly it's your rings or blocked breather?

Blue Smoke

If the Smoke is to the white end of the scale it could even be steam from a tiny head gasket leak
My Mazda Bongo did this

A GOOD diesel fitter should be able to tell you what's wrong fairly quickly
If you dont know what you are doing and start messing around on your own you could end doing a lot more damage or replacing parts that are ok
This I speak from experience as a mechanic
It could be anything trivial or major
