Plugged the mh in yesterday as I am getting it packed and ready for the off tomorrow as this is the first time I have plugged it in in daylight I noticed in the socket box on the van there is a wee blue lever type thing, anyone any idea what this is.

I would put a pic on but it would just confuse you looking at it upside down:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Ok thanks for the quick replies will see when I disconnect it.

Thanks Paul we are thinking of heading to Glencoe to either give sking a go or just try sledging for a bit of fun and they now have a camperstop at the ski resort only £15 a night with hook up showers and drying facilities.

Have a great time in your new van. And before anyone says NO, you are allowed to feel smug in a new van (for a while anyway):thumb:

Yes, we have one on our van. "supposed" seems to be the operative word because it doesn't seem to work but that's no problem ::bigsmile:

Ditto....I've been pushing it downwards recently and it hasn't helped much. I decided to try upwards today and it was just as bad.

I can't remember which way is correct

If you push the plug in fully when hooking up it should lock automatically and to remove the plug push the blue lever down before pulling the plug out.

if the lever doesnt lock the plug in it's either broken (not a problem really) or you aint pushing the plug all the way in.

from memory you push the lever upwards to unlock.

Same as my Autotrail

Definitely as above for a Autotrail Gerry

You will hear a click as the lock engages when you put the plug in.

Push the lever down whilst you pull the plug out.

My mistake, but i did say 'from memory' in my defense :roflmto:

couldnt remember as i dont have a europlug type socket on the RV....just a 50amp trailing lead with a normal hookup socket on the end.

Thanks everyone....it does indeed seem to be push down to release - it causes a "peg" at the back of the socket to lift, which presumably is meant to release things...

...but in my case it's not working because the "!&% thing is still a pain to pull out. Must be broken....along with the flap which no longer springs shut and occasionally starts flapping around while in transit

It lifts the springy flap thing up to let the plug out.

If your springy thing doesn't spring it won't lol

Ain't a big drama I think

Have a great ski trip :thumb:
