Still seems cheap to me for a reasonable conversion. A Mr&Mrs Gibson do live at the address shown so perhaps you are right. Could be a good buy for someone.

Don't forget he should not ask for email contact besides eBay will look at it and decide :thumb: it could well be a cleverer scam.

Clever scam then - 'registered a business seller', contact details appear genuine and match username. Oh well, will report it, let Ebay decide.

Something very fishy going on here , the van in the pic was scammed a couple of days ago, then original seller claims he has had his account stolen and heis proper seller. Now up for sale at a different address etc , finishing soon

It's an auction which has run it's full 10 days, so no pressure to pay upfront, winner will presumably go to pick it up, if it's not there they walk away. Reference to No1Gear (a well known company for Talbot repairs) seems OK. I think it's genuine. Afterall it's a 1991 so it's not worth a fortune anyway and the auction is not over yet.

If you compare the 2 ads the one at 3400 has copied only the first photo., The reg no is different youcan see this by looking at other photos in the sequence. I think he may be legit and wanted a distant photo of the van which he could not get so he copied one.

Got me wondering now if they want you to pay say 500 quid as a deposit via spoof website or something--who knows I hope nobody parts with any money upfront

Interesting one Terry. The VW was on sale last May for 13500 Link Removed Obviously the text for the ebay ad has been copied from here.

The last para of the ebay add says "you are bidding" but it is a classified add.

Think this one been in for a while Terry as I have looked at it before but very high mileage for someone to spend all that money doing it up.
Obviously real advert will be for a lot more but still think mileage will go against it.
