Tom tom new map? (1 Viewer)

My map updates have ran out so............. I am being offered Eastern Europe for £40 or Camping map for 45 European countries for £80

Hmmm not sure which way to go any opinions please???

I've replaced my satnav twice now because it's cheaper to shop around for a cheap deal on a new one & sell the old one on ebay. Last time it only cost £35 to upgrade to a new Tomtom Via 125.

Yes. Would you actually gain enough by upgrading? I got sick of Tom Tom's out of date maps and bought a Garmin, then bought a lifetime map upgrade subscription instead of paying every time.

I see that Halfords have several Garmins on offer "including lifetime map updates worth £74.99", from as little as £99.99 with Western Europe maps.

All you need do is pop into one of their shops to buy one. Oops, you're not in (poor, cold) England are you?

Nope I don't want to change my unit as it is pretty new. My choice is as above standard maps or the caravan/m/home one.

About 2 yers ago I bought a new TomTom as it was cheaper than upgrading maps and our old one was about 3 years old anyway. We use the new TomTom on the dash but I have the old TomTom at the side of me and I have to say even though it hasn't been updated for about 6 years it still shows the same routes & roads as the new TomTom so don't think you have to update every year:thumb:
What does the 'camping maps' amount to - a list of camp sites? you can down load lots of POI free including campsites/Aires & ACSI
I have now gone for TomTom on my ipad (can also use it on my iphone at no extra cost) and this was a one off fee of £79 for all of Europe maps with lifetime automatic updates at no extra cost.

No, the "camper" maps allow you to input which type of vehicle you are driving and chooses roads to suit. :thumb:

Ive just had an email from Tomtom about a winter map sale, all of Europe for £41.97 HERE

just select your device, click on Europe, Middle East & Africa, then on Europe:thumb:

It is £80 ish and err possibly that is what I am trying to find out (whilst not expecting perfection)
