My old aunt did similar....on a much smaller scale, and before satnav,s

she was a regular visitor to Doncaster from Scarborough but coming home one day missed her turning on the A1 for the A64 but continued anyway hoping to turn off for Thirsk.

when she stopped for fuel she asked where she was.......NEWCASTLE !!!...only a hundred miles further on . .

she's 90 this year and no longer drives...thank god !
