Reading another unnamed forum about full timing and a comment was mentioned about parking problems in towns to do shopping or a small villages or indeed some supermarkets, with the width and length of the van being wider. How easy is parking if you have say a 24ft motorhome.
OK I know with a conversion I could probably get away with it but I want to full time at some point and living in a conversion would drive in insane in such a small space.
Now I have considered this because I have yet to buy my dream machine and one thing I considered was buying a van with a garage and keeping a small moped in there, but its not ideal. I can't use a push bike because of a disability.
Full timing I understood included a lot of wild camping so the possibility of staying at a campsite and then using public transport isn't appealing.
So what is the story with parking? Are there other solutions that I'm not seeing, are there any horror stories that I should be aware of?
Am I being too naive....probably.
I have no illusions about driving into the centre of the town and spotting a car parking space and just parallel parking.
Height restrictions, width restrictions will I be able to park in a municipal car park etc etc? If I'm full timing here or in Europe I'll need to shop at some point other than a supermarket.
There must be full timers out there who have 24ft+ vans what is your advice.
Thanks in advance
Gary
