The video shows it as some sort of joke,, But it does really exist.!!
In a spray can, I have some, bought at the local car spares shop.. Use it on my old hedge trimmers....:thumb:

Problem is with these sprays, once you use it , the engine always needs it to start again.. A bit like someone becoming an Alki or junkie ..

Thats a falacy, it does,nt get addicted to it, its just that you hav,nt cured the fault that caused it not to start in the first place, youve just used the spray.:thumb:

Only partly true !! Errrrr.... Rephrase that.. only MAINLY true !! ::bigsmile:

Welll.. this info dates to when I was still working on fork trucks and may be out of date now, but...

Cold Start / Easy Start and the like is ether based and does not compress and is also pretty bloody flammible , thereby raising the compression, and firing easier.

Of course, if the engine has got low compression to start with using ether will not improve matters, and can make it worse by virtue of the stuff removing any coke and sludge from the rings and piston crown

The dread Ford York engine was so bloody poor at cold weather starting ( caused it was found years later by the sodding bores being almost porous ! )there was a kit that could be bought that was basically a can of Easy Start, a bit of wire and a pull tab inside the cab

The idea being you could give it a squirt without having to lift the bonnet !

The teenies favourite - Lynx - has the same effect. The Lynx effect I guess!

It doesn't do the damage that ether based products do.
