Just my twisted sense of humour Jim, obviously it cannot appeal to everyone, or anyone come to that. We are however living in a society where one speak ones mind even if I am almost the only one laughing. This site is supposed to be about fun so was just having some. No offence intended.could someone explain what JS has to do with it.. ?
AFAIK he was never allowed near Children In Need, let alone on it
Yep
We are first time for the last few years, we have always took part in a local fund raiser run by a young girl we know, ranging from groups on stage and dances to last years which was so much simpler just tables in a pub with tombola for the donated gifts and a raffle for other bigger items, £5.00 for a supper buffet put on by the pub and well over a £1,000 collected on the night, cant go this year has [HI]Lynn just came out of hospital today [/HI]after an operation, so she will be nice and fit for Jan out to Spain, lets hope they collect more tonight. Children in need is now a worn out slimy format, with so called "celebrities" making appearances for their own ends, not for kids. Its about time it was knocked on the head and a different way found to raise money rather than just an "advertisathon."
A more honest way of harvesting money should be applied, more of the "bidding" , perhaps for dinner with a celeb, or something a company has donated, theatre tickets, Ipad, car whatever, then we wont have to mix glitzy celebs with sick kids and see the terrible way that just looks so false.

"Who is watching kids in need"
I am and donating too.
Twice here.
Attempt one failed, I thought because PAYG below needed, so topped up PAYG manually, worked -- twice.
Never mind, all in a good cause.

Well, I was v sad when Terry's Old Geezers and Gals stopped producing the calendar after HM Customs & Excise refused em VAT exemption. But that turned out well in the end, as they raise far more money doing it the Countryfile way. Greater exposure and all that jazz if you'll excuse the bad pun.
I was very touched on DIT SOS in the week when the mother of an autistic child had said she got an hour or so's respite and the lady arrived at her house and wanted her to leave to go do whatever it was she wanted to do.
No she said, I don't want to go out - I want you to take my lad to The Yard (the place they were doing up) instead of me. And she said to 2 other mothers - It was absolutely great! - he had a whale of a time here as usual - and I got to clean the bathroom! I loved it!
And I thought to myself, sometimes we just can't grasp that people's needs can be so, so simple, can we? I mean - you all know yourselves ladies, nobody can clean your bathroom as well as you do, can they? (Well, Aggie and Kim perhaps LOL) And the job satisfaction !
