Maybe just my browser, using Chrome.. but today the Links column on the right is taking up almost a 1/3 of the page .. tried emptying cookies , cache and rebooting but still the same

Normally I'd say it was a caching issue, but I'm sure you've tried logging out, navigating away from fun and clearing cache and cookies. So let's try an work out what the issue is. I can't replicate on the mac Jim, I'll be somewhere I can fire up a Windows machine in about an hour and take a look. What operating system and what browser version are you using?

Jim, if you are blocking the ads could it be that your ad-blocker is causing the issue by using oversized place markers?
