Roastmaster Hob and Oven (1 Viewer)

Am thinking of buying a Roastmaster camping hob and oven for use outside the camper when on site. We don't have an oven inside the van and thought it a good idea to have a cooker outside for cooking breakfast etc when we are in one place for any length of time. Have looked at the Roastmaster with an oven and 2 burners and it looks ideal. Does anyone know anything about them. I notice Johns Cross has them for sale and what funster discount does he give.

Having done more research the Kampa Roastmaster oven and hob does seem a great piece of kit for those without an oven. We have always had some form of cooker set up outside for BBQing and cooking bacon fish etc and this portable oven hob seems to be ideal for our needs. My idea is to fit it just inside the lift up garage door and connect to a small gas bottle stored securely in the garage. This way it can be used in inclement weather and lifted out for use when on site. The Roastmaster is primarily designed for tent/glampers but it looks like the ideal thing for those of us with imported German vans that don't have an oven.

Sorry Treacle but I don't do "healthy". Seriously though I wanted an oven but didn't want to lose a cupboard inside the van. Thats why I chose the Roastmaster with the added bonus of a two ring hob.

You can get gas hobs very cheaply so it seems a heck of a price for a tin box with a burner in it!!!

What about a Cobb BBQ which can be used as an oven, or even a double skillet:

You cant make bread in a skillet and if you have met me you will know am a foody and therefore price does not factor into it. The Cob is not cheap and it has some bad revues. The Kampa Roastmaster has not 1 bad revue and most suppliers have sold out till next season. The tinternet is a great place for doing your homework before purchase.

Well the ultimate Glamping accessory has arrived and duly fitted and tested. Am well pleased with this most have motorhome accessory and if anyone with an imported camper without an oven is thinking of loosing a cupboard to put an oven in, I can recommend this oven as it can be used outside or fitted in the garage as I have done.

I so wanted to cook Sunday lunch in it Carol, but the neighbours have doubts about my mental state now. God knows what they would have thought if they had seen me setting my camp kitchen up outside in the rain.

V similar to my trusty old Flavel Vanessa, except mine also has a grill and is smaller. Probably heavier too, I know it seems to weigh half a ton anyway! Indispensable.

We've happily fed 10 people on 2 weeks fishing holidays with that plus a Coleman petrol stove; I've even hosted dinner parties for 8 or more people at the caravan when we had it. We always had a cooker in the van of course but as the van though a tourer was sited for 6 months of the year - we did all the actual cooking out in the awning.

I actually miss that in the motorhome because it gets quite warm in the van when you have everything blasting away. Plus of course, it was a lot easier to clean the oven, as I always have the cooker raised up whereas the van oven is normal height which involves kneeling on the floor, same as home. Hate it.

Hi Jenny, I looked at second hand Flavals on ebay and they were making silly money. I thought I would be able to pick a decent second hand caravan oven up cheap, but was well mistaken. Am really pleased with this and cant wait to use it. One thing I like about it is it has handles on the sides so its easy to lift in and out of the garage.

It has its own bottle Peter fitted into a cradle in the garage. That way I can lift it all out and use it outside when the weather is good. Bye the way......Thanks for the superfast delivery. It arrived next morning.
