That does look nice. A lot of thought gone into converting it. If any criticism I think there is too much grey paint on the outside. That's all.

plus the windows are too big . think that is badly thought out . could have been blanked off for the build . also not much storage again badly designed .

Marvellous! The OP is from Wrexham, and in one of the adverts, the seller of the conversion is from......Wrexham!

Well even though he has not introduced him self, I think he has made a half decent job of a disabled frendly camper -Plus points room for a chair, disirable engine and auto box- minus points for me are all the windows ::bigsmile: but then again it would have put another 2k plus on the conversion :whatthe:Plenty of storage up above but not too sure how a wheelchair bound person would reach it all ::bigsmile:

firstly well done in trying

Firstly I would say well done who ever tried to make a disabled conversion.. not enough people try.

However it looks like an Ambulance converted or an OAP home van... not very attractive sorry to say.

I have seen a Australian Winnebago advert where they have done a production wheelchair (on the side) and still has the original door for the habitation.. fold p bed etc., and a wet room. It looks like a motor home and it is a motor home. Ok I suspect it cost a lot more than this offering. But would I buy it? NO

I am selling my present RV to get a toy hauler and that is at least an RV with a garage.. OK a big garage. But I would never consider a van conversion like this. Not designed for the purpose sorry to say.

But I am sure it would allow someone in a wheelchair to get out... but do check the rating of the lift.. often installed under weight and will not lift a power chair.

Not saying everything is right or wrong with the conversion but for the money it just may give a disabled person a couple of nights away  They may not have infinite fund's but this may well be a alternative.
I remember a few years back seeing a lady with no legs and her large husband in a small Renault extra van (escort sized) and a gazebo, she was in that allday and slept in the van.It has got to be better than that :thumb:

Terry do not make the mistake that disabled people are unable to afford things. It may be true of some, but I know a lot of disabled people being one myself that have a lot of disposable income. Same as never assume that disabled people do not work or have money from various sources.

Not making the mistake Bob: Wink: merely saying it may well provide a first step into the world of M/Hs for a disabled person not wanting to spend a fortune: thumb:
Personaly way too many windows left in and do not like the layout

its a complete disaster, cant even get to the front to drive it let alone use the shower. . okay for a wheelchair passenger if they like roughing it. looks more like a glorified day care bus.

Bob , dont make the mistake of thinking every disabled person has loads of dosh like yourself, there are far more on or near the breadline (at least in this area) than have plenty of disposable income. Yes YOU and some others may be able to afford what you want, but there are plenty out there that are struggling, not only the disabled I may add.

its not whats coming in that counts .
its how you spend it . thats what really matters .
lots of folk with loads of income dont own the clothes they stand up in .
yet a tramp owns every thing he has.

That's the point derek

its a complete disaster, cant even get to the front to drive it let alone use the shower. . okay for a wheelchair passenger if they like roughing it. looks more like a glorified day care bus.

That is the point Derek.. the vehicle has to suit the needs of the disabled person as we both well know. What is good for one will not work for another.

Often people put the word disabled in to a box.. it is far bigger than that. As we both know if we use power chairs we need to be able to recharge them. If it is a manual wheelchair a different story, especially if you have a carer or partner.

If this vehicle was made for a person and it meet there needs fine, but to the next owner they may fine it will not work for them.

I normally use a scooter and my manual chair at shows.. but at Malvern I took the power chair.. real hell on the grass.. OK in the show ground on the tarmac.. but people do not think about where a disabled type vehicle will spend it's life.. few camp sites are flat and smooth.

I felt it looked like a converted old age people's vehicle and in that case it seems as soon as you add a chair lift the price rockets up.

Not for me for sure.

I was told they stop making them?

I was told they had stopped making them.

I was in France in June and saw a very neat caravan with a serious ramp in the side for a lady with a power chair... it was not a chopped about unit, but made for the job.

Just does not seem to be available in the UK.

I do accept those views

I do accept those views.. I was trying to say that not all disabled people do not have disposable income.. bit like OAP's ... there is of course those that have and do not have in all walks of life as we all know. If you are a full time wheelchair users there is help out there in the form of vat removal on new and secondhand vehicles and work related to the main vehicle (not goodies) but running repairs... So it is a little cheaper for some disabled and also vat is removed from things like wheelchair lifts and the installation etc.,

not sure about that bob . i shall see if i go past this winter . might not very often only join the coast at valencia .these days . i went there about 6 years ago . met some english with one and thought as i passed lets have a nose in . found them really helpfull . i think its only the importers here that have finished . but might be wrong .
you know me i love visiting these places . i like seeing how others run places . we normally have at least a couple of days at factories when away . lots of vehicle plants in portugal . mitzy .toyota, ford .vw just a few we have had factory tours .
but if your passing at benicarlo call in if its still going on you cant miss it .
might be worth a visit for yourself explain just what you need bet they could do it .

I cannot understand why?

not bad, would be better if there was a little more room, but still ia nice job

:thumb::thumb::thumb:

I cannot understand why companies have to screw the wheelchair in movement racks to the floor.

I have them on my trailer and they did the same thing. I ended up getting marine ply and slotting the wood up to the racks .. so there is no risk of a trip hazard to other users in the motorhome.

As you say Derek nice, but far to small.. now if it had a slide then it might be better.. I can turn my wheelchair around in my RV .. this one is forward or backwards only.

Better than the first one which is the topic of the post, but still a long way to go.. still a half way house to me.
