Cost of Chunnel (1 Viewer)

Morning all,just enquiring,does anybody know what it would cost to use the chunnel with my RV pulling a trl,42ft.Wife worrying about sea crossing from Hull or Newcastle with our dog.She hates being apart from us. Av a nice day all.:thumb:..THE BANDIT...:Cool:

I shouldn't have guessed it appears to be £366 most days for a return ticket.....

In "Your Vehicle" box, select campervan + trailer, the length doesn't matter , one price fits all sizes.

Well I have just used the tunnel for the first time on my return trip to "Operation Market Garden" and I missed the enjoyment of the Ferry.

.............From now on I'll always use the Ferry.. much better

........................and so I would suggest that it is purely opinion.......:thumb:

I have to agree, I have used the tunnel quite a few times but I much prefer the ferry.

There is no novelty in it for me as I used to work with both P&O and Stena ferries so I have done thousands of crossings.

I just find it makes a nice break, a chance to stretch your legs, take in some fresh air on the open decks, and enjoy a coffee, then ready to roll again at the other side...



and its A LOT CHEAPER.........:thumb::thumb:

As someone who has used the Channel Tunnel more than Ferries (before MH days) I agree that Ferries are more relaxed and cheaper, however fully understand the OP whose wife does not want to leave the dog on a long ferry crossing.

Also, Channel Tunnel highly efficient.

Yes Steve I fully appreciate that and have answered his initial question in the first reply, I then went on to defend against Slober saying that the tunnel is better.

Hadn't used a ferry for years as Tunnel better for the dog. Took son and grandsons on trip to Somme in June and used the ferry going out for their experience - won't be doing that again. Ages to load all vehicles on, food rubbish, total transit time from arrival to disembarkation much, much longer than tunnel.

Agree that the tunnel is a little more expensive than ferries but in my view worth paying for the speed of transit, no weather considerations, etc,etc.
