Hi I hope someone can help, our new camper (to us) came with roof mounted air con. We have not had it switched on when the outside temperature is very hot, but when we run it it does not seem to blow very cold air. It is below ambient but not like the vehicle air con or even that at the office. I know it is a low power unit so it can work on low power hook up, but should it be better than it is?

Any help welcome.

Thanks

It should blow cold, maybe needs a regas, you should always run air cons
at least once a month for a few minutes to keep the seals from leaking gas.
Cab or Hab.

You don't say what model.

We used ours last month here in Spain when outside temp was 40C and inside MH was a cool 18C after about 1 hour of running. The only thing I hate is having to mains hook up to run it.

Its a Waeco cool air CA 1000 it runs on hook up or from the 12 volt supply but only with the engine running. But not well, I have asked the dealer and they say it is OK but I want to be sure before the warranty runs out.

Good question this.

I have just took my new motorhome back to the supplier for a few warranty repairs and other bits and bobs.

One of the warranty repairs was the habitation air con was not running very cold. I measured the output with a decent thermometer at 10c.
They reckon it was a little bit less but within the makers specification.

A friends Hab air con was measured at 2c. This temperature is more in line at where I think it should be. :thumb:
