Why would you want to? When driving the fridge should be powered from the alternator. If its not an AES model then select battery before you move away.

D.

In edit, be a good chap and tuen your gas off while driving please.

and a petrol car at 2000revs is making at least 8000sparks a minute in the distributer and that is vented to the air .and they can be strong sparks . the alternator /dynamo is making more .the starter is sparking the door light switch is sparking .etc . etc .
but dont have your mobile phone on its dangerous .
american rvs run fridges and deep freezers on gas . we have heaters working all the time using gas . just about everything electrical is making sparks .

Vlad is right... :thumb:

...but at the moment my 12 volt workings has a suspected faulty heater thingy so I am running on gas all the time. Rarely blows out...

But for goodness sake... don't do what I do... do what you think is best.

if your fridge has flattened your habitation batteries whilst travelling your split charge system is not wired correctly, the fridge should be taking power from your vehicle battery/alternator when the engine is running. I personally wouldn't travel with the gas bottle turned on let alone the fridge.
