Have just been wading through the mountain of paperwork that came with the RMB and was shocked to find the original bill of sale when it was ordered and bought new. I find this almost obscene. When new in 1990 it was 216068 DM without extras such as Oyster etc. This equates to 111000 Euros. In todays value £170520. That was a serious amount of money at that time. I could have bought 3 good houses for that amount in 1990. We are not talking of a 40 ft RV here but a 6.8 metre Eurobox. I ask myself what sort of person would pay that sort of money today.

That is what some one paid for my first RMB i paid 24500euro in 2006 for her
sold it in 2010for 14000euro
in 2006 24500euro = £16K
so in four years only cost £2000 in real terms i lost nothing
she is still going strong but too small for my needs so i have an RV now
my RV cost $109K in 1999

a bloody fortune in any money
so i say i have a millionaires life style on beggers income heheee

Well spotted Al. Its still a lot of brass in 1990. I think a three bed semi where I live was around £33/35000 at that time, so I could have bought 2 and a bit for the same price. If I remember right I bought a new 143 Scania for less money than that in 1990.

How much was a loaf of bread in 1990 same scenario

Peter
Dont know how much a loaf of bread was then Peter but how many £73000 campers did you have in your showroom in 1990 and more to the point how many £170000 plus campers do you have for sale today. Not really much of a scenario is it.

We all eagerly await the photos Dave to see what cost that much money.
Here ya go Roger. That is not a glass top over the cooker, its a gas ceramic hob. Full width motorcycle garage with full size doors on both sides. Factory fitted 1200 watt pure sine wave inverter. LPG tank plus gas locker with 2 X 13kg gas bottles. Factory fitted eberspacher diesel heater heated garage and living quarters. Truma boiler and gas heating. 3X110 amp leisure batteries. Monocoque one piece fibreglass body shell with aluminium inner skin. Double floor with all tanks and plumbing inside body. Large black and grey water tanks. 12 volt air conditioning. Built like a brick outhouse. Weighs a lot.
