Yep, after all this time it's time to say goodbye. I have just had more than a gut full lately of miserable people with sharpened knives.
Now before some get too excited, I refer to this useless countries Jet stream, Weatherman and there inability to satisfy me.

Therefore, Nikki and I and the bear are heading for pastures new, Called in super nanny for the teenagers and off we are going to the new motorhome capital of the world.

Yep Prague,

will take in a couple of strip clubs, im going to bungee jump off some bridge and run the streets in order to keep fit for the upcoming marathon.

we have 11 nights so will be a bit whistlestop but setting sale on the 22nd August we are off, gone and sailing away.
No real plan other than Prague is the destination and we know which site we will stay when we get there. The return will be via Dresden to pay my respects and in to the Hars Mountains.

So, anyone used a vet in Belgium? (might take in Bruge) Any particular road on the way to Nuremburg that we should use? Or on the way home?

Might also take in the Dusseldorf MH show as well,

Germany really isn't my country but I will have a German friend on standby for translation.

Not even sure the Sat Nav works in Prague, so it will be quite an adventure.

Any tips, fire away.

Enjoy, do9 make sure you don't run foul of the German LEZ in most major towns and get the required card if you intend to visit one. As a newish van I would expect it t9o be complient but still requires some paperwork.

Oh Paul. I knew it couldn't be me this time 'cos we're away. You had me worried for a minute. Have a lovely, lovely time and let us know if it's worth going there. There's a good vet at Orchies, just over the border from Belgium and only charged me 29 euros for Ellie and that was when we needed the worm and tick treatment. His name was Renaud Taymans at 59310 Orchies. I don't have his phone number but he was in the square. We were just driving past and saw it. ::bigsmile:

My best place in Prague, the technology museum. It's got everything, cars, bikes, trains, planes, photography. The Czechs are serious engineers.

What is the name of the campsite ?

There is a dresden war memorial to all those that died at Dresden, including oddly enough a monument to those of bomber command and the USAF, as well as a story of the bombings.

Did a round trip a couple of years ago,

Brugge, Koblenz, Luxembourg, Prague, Bratislava, Budapest, Krakow, Warsaw, Poznan, Berlin, Amsterdam.

A long trip but well worth it.

With all cities I find the open top bus tour is the way to go as most tickets are valid for 48 hrs and you can get on and off wherever you like.

Some cities have become very commercialised since getting rid of the commies and I have to say Prague falls into that category.

Enjoy your trip but be aware and keep a tight hold on wallets and handbags etc when in any of these cities.

Our fourth glorious year!
When we went to Prague we took in part of the Romantisch Strasse ( see Romantic Road - Wikipedia for description) that runs north/south from Wurzburg to Augsburg. Highly recommended. Beautiful towns such as Rothenburg and Dinkesbhul and lovely rolling countryside. After Prague try going south to Ceski Krumlov another gem!
Have a great trip.:thumb:

Lol,

Yes I've been to prague with a large group of lads, I think if we stay out the strip clubs this time it will avoid fighting with the bouncers :roflmto:
We had a similar experience when one of our group was not happy with the service he had received from a "lady" and decided to argue the toss. I did find the nightlife rather seedy tbh, full of stag/hen dos and drunk Brits. A far cry from the peace and tranquil art world I found during the day, strangely most of my group were sleeping when I walked up to the castle. Maybe I've become to sensible

love the last bit

a tip is always appriciated

Known as the Venice of the North, Bruges is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe!

It was a justified motive that prompted UNESCO in 2000 to include the entire historical city centre on the World Heritage list. Walking along the maze of winding cobbled alleys and romantic canals, you imagine yourself to be in medieval times. The wealth of museums is a striking image of this city's stirring history.

Bruges is also home to contemporary culture, such as the new Concert Hall, which is one of the most prominent music complexes in Flanders.

The restaurants in Bruges which offer gastronomic cuisine and the exclusive hotels are a true feast for those who enjoy the good things in life.

Hi, hope you have a great time. I think that is the site we stayed at in a tent a few years ago. It wa fine as I remember and the tram stop was just outside, taking you into town. I also loved cesky krumlov. A beautiful place by the river. We stayed at a campsite owned by a Dutch couple, and were the only people there. I don't think you could get a motorhome down to it though unless they have upgraded the track. I was in a car,, and it was a bit tight. The people were lovely though, and also catered to campers canoeing the river.

We also visited the bone church in Kutna Hora. I was a bit concerned prior to the visit, feeling it would be macabre, but actually it was fascinating. I bought some lovely glass trinkets outside the church as well.

Feeling very jealous right now!!
