Hi everyone
We are the proud owners of a 1983 Nissan Cabstar with a Glendale Body.We have started cleaning the old girl, we would love to hear from anyone who has one of these models. Haven't been able to find any listed at all are we the only people on the planet with one.
We would appreciate any advise and help with getting spares and tips on repairs etc.
Hoping to hear from fellow minded motorhomers.
We have been tenters then progressed to a trailer tent which we still have and love to use and now trying the motor homing malarky. ::bigsmile:
Look forward to hearing back.

Had a cabstar pick up once - absolutely amazing tool. Won't blow the skin off a rice pudding, but is an indestructible work horse! A real mule.

You won't have any problems with that!

How lovely. We were in one like this at Arque(?) near St Omer one night and what a lovely couple they were. The van was ancient on the outside but just so cosy on the inside and we all got drunk, apart from Sandy. A great memory of people we will never see again. ::bigsmile:

The old girl managed to creep up to 60mph on the motorway on the way back from buying it.

Our very first motor home was a Merc / Glendale

Our very first motor home was a mercedes with a Glendale body.

Glendale went out of business a few times and moved from the North to just outside Portsmouth... They had a small site and we purchased our first motor home from them. The factory they had could just about accommodate a build of one vehicle... all wood with plastic type covering.

The Merc diesel did top speed 50 mpg up or down hill.. took it all the way to Spain up through Andorra which was one struggle..

We sold it and purchased the first of the 9 RV's we have owned over the past 26 years odd.

For a european it had a fair bit of room.. kids in the cab over and we had the rear dinner that dropped to a double bed.. plus we also had a drop table.. 6 berth.. very basic cooking and fridge and tiny toilet.. crazy Zig unit on the electrics.. but we cut our teeth in to motor homing on it.

Have fun with it.. and welcome to the MHF forum

We are enjoying it at moment cleaning and doing some repairs. Did you ever do any repairs on your Glendale body ?
i think i need to replace a few bits of timber on the roof had a quick peek and it seems pretty basic framework . Gonna wait a while before i start that though want to get away for a weekend to try the old girl out.
