We are off again next Sunday traveling from Norfolk to the Lake District for 6 days.
My wife and I have not been there since we were children.
We are taking our 11 year old son with us again.
Can we take our 24ft A class 3 litre motorhome over any of the passes?
We love a challenge (sorry that should read I love a challenge).
Is there any places of interest and any nice sites with a indoor heated swimming pool?
Regards
Peter and Liz.

Still learning since 2010
I believe the Camping and Caravanning Club now own Braithwaite Fold site in Bowness. It's on the side of the lake near where the boat trips run from and is only a few minutes walk into the town.

We've done Kirkstone Pass in the MH but I wouldn't fancy Wrynose or Hardknot. Have done them in the past in a VW camper and that was "good" fun. :Eeek:

Couple of years or so.
Eskdale (boot, ravenglass, waste water area) THE most beautiful part of the lakes and well away from the tourists. Visit muncaster castle whilst there.

The passes are good fun but Wrynose and Hardnot were designed before the modern MH's were around. Narrow, steep, with tight bends and the approach roads can be as bad, especially through Little Langdale. :Eeek:

Kirkstone, (coaches travel this one, but not into Ambleside) Whinlatter and Honister are OK, well I think they are, HIND may not agree. :shout:

The Western lakes are nice but may not be the best place with children, not much going on over there.
