If I was to get a Moped am I right in assuming the following (for the UK);

  • If it's a maximum of 50cc, I can ride it without getting a CBT (past car test way before 1997)
  • I can carry a passenger legally
  • Modern 50cc can carry 2 people without too much hassle
However, what about if I take it to the continent, does the UK entitlement still exist?

Check your licence to ensure it has category P listed and has no restrictions Craig :thumb:

As to the rest..Kinda depends on the size and weight of the two people in question, but yes.. Should be ok

Oddly, one of th ebest all rounders for two up is the good old Honda 50 step through ( oft called a 'crunchy' but they are getting difficult to find nowadays in any worth while condition :Sad:

My licence states p (along with fkln) in lowercase.

Honda step through. Brings back memories when my dad used to let me ride his Honda 90 around a field as a kid.

I have a 50cc benelli pepe and its a great little bike that will do 43mph dont know if i fancy having a passenger on it though. If your not to restricted on weight have a look at the 3 wheelers 2 wheels at front im sure you can ride them up to 250cc with car licence

I think it might actually be up to 400cc but not sure.

They look a bit weird though don't they?

I think its 300cc up to 400cc you can drive on a car licence below that you need a bike licence it is to do with the width of the front wheels the 300cc upwards are wider so classed as a car
