No it's not reached here. I updated/patched our forum software early this morning and this changed the cookie code which made the cookie you had stored invalid.

These cookies are great unless you are on holiday, use someone else's laptop and have to re-do your password because you can't remember it as you haven't needed to use it for yonks.

Then you get back to your own lappie, change the password and then your stored password no longer works because the cookie's broke and you're under threat of being banished for 15 minutes unless you can remember the new password within 3 tries. Aaaaaaarghhh.

I need to lie down in a darkened room....:roflmto::roflmto:

why is such a simple word so contentious?

There I was this morning turning on the computer and hit the link to MHF and I get the sign in screen.. like others.... what is my password? I spell Slobber in different ways.. which one is it:Sad:.. fortunately I have a book with the dozens of different passwords I have... yes I have a copy that as all just in case....

So I see this post in the U shape.. and it tells me RVOC site has a problem... now as I had a problem getting on line this morning I just wondered if we had a similar problem... given a few RVOC members had posted on the MHF about it I wonder if a cross infection or migration as you wish.. it is not an American thing as Chris wants push on his :reel::reel::reel::reel::reel: trip.... cross infection, cross migration etc., etc., were just everyday normal words.. nothing American about them.

But if he (Chris) wants to try his luck:reel: in the pond, who am I to stop him:Blush:

cross infection/comtamination cannot acure from a yank/rv forum to a euro forum as the euro forum is higher on the evolution scale compared to a yank/rv forum.:roflmto:

Nope ..............................................

First commersionally built American Motorhome appeared about 1910 and in the UK about 1950. :Eeek:

So, been around longer and evolved, ever so much further.

They have both evolved for their home market, the US is huge so it follows that their RVs are huge.
The UK is small, this is why our motorhomes are in keeping with our own dimensions. The problem arises when you attempt to fit a quart into a pint pot. They don’t belong here, they are aliens.:ROFLMAO:

In future Jim, could you PLEASE give a little fore-warning ?

I inadvertently ate the cookie I generated yesterday not realising it had become out of date.. :whatthe:
I was subsequently quite ill and had to settle for a cookie from another site with my tea.. No where near as palatable as a genuine Motorhome Fun cookie

Oh dear another world war III RV's v ice-cream boxes

Ive heard there's talk of improvin em:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Why, oh why:cry::cry: another RV v Ice cream box war... well another version of it... all I was asking was the problem on RVOC popped up on MHF.. give that some of those that belong to both sites had posted on here of the problems on there... if you follow me.

Buy it seems we are into another spitting contest.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Geo.. how can they improve on an european?

I will use up JIMs band width... the list would be so long..

But I will start it off... I am sure Geo, or Super Mike will add to it...

Remember Europeans.. i.e Buttons, Treacle, Chris Green etc., this is our list....

Holding tanks .. no lugging half the toilet across the field

Slide outs... means lots of extra living space

LPG... we do not have to go hunting a shop selling a bottle.. just pull up tot the tank and fill.

A real fridge ...as big as I have in the kitchen

A real freezer - separate door and big.... I can get Ezzies meat in boxes for 21 days and a load of other frozen goods in there.

I have a decent size toilet and a real show that you can turn around in...

a 3' wide bathroom door no getting in there sideways crab fashion.

Now to comfort.. real captains chairs.. not wannabe Italian or French copies...

Real settes, that sit a fair number of people and have lap belts fitted.

Fly screens on all the opening windows as standard

Massive fresh water tanks.. no running off to fill the aqua roll on arrival...

A real fly screen opening door.. not a slide thing that goes across at an angle.

What about a decent awning.. we do not put it away like a Fiamma with the slights puff of wind.

Real air suspension ... smooth drive.

Air con on the dash and ducted in the roof

Automatic with lots of gears... nice and restful drive

Cruise control

Power steering...

electric windows

electric mirrors (heated of course) ..with colour coded finishes or chrome.. not cheap plastic.

heating that will toast you very fast.

water heating that does not dump when it gets cold... why because RV's do not get cold.

do you want me to carry on?

Only a couple hundred more to go............

real towing gear.. mine can haul 5,000 lbs as standard. real nose cone weights not micky mouse numbers.

Built to last.. chassis are not made of alley, but real heavy duty truck chassis often as used on Fire engines... i.e spartan... or Gilligag

Homes on wheels... not rabbit boxes that rip out the reverse gears when they reverse.

A real payload of over a ton or more.

And.... cheaper than a euopean to buy and run ... taken over the life of the RV..

I am really tired now.. so someone else can add to my list...

Buttons... treacle, Chris .. make your own list.:winky:

As I said, the RV has evolved for the US market, they love all that nonsense. It's like a fish out of water over here.
You didn't mention heated seats. I guess you don't need them in Texas. Mine work wonders on a cold morning.:winky:

Being a newbie, I actually find this thread has become educational.I find it fascinating to learn the differences and get some insight into the mindsetof the various MH factions. I am not encouraging a p'ing contest, simply wanting to learn about the american european great divide. Possibly impossible to avoid such a contest though.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Its just a bit of banter::bigsmile: It's difficult to see a tounge in a cheek on an internet forum, but there is plenty of it when it comes to chats here about the Euro-box v the Yank-tank :roflmto:
