I wouldn't bother, no sat nav knows the width of roads - yet!

Tried a Snooper - sent it back because it tried to send me down a narrow lane which I know is totally unsuitable for motorhomes.

If you have a TomTom that can take a SD card then this http://www.tomtom-navigation.co.uk/ is one solution as it allows for vehicle size, weight etc.

I have it, but to be honest have reverted back to the original system, combined with common sense. So it's for sale if anyone wants it.

..but you can download SatNav POIs used by truckers to warn of narrow roads and/or low bridges. Neither perfect nor comprehensive, but better than nothing.

Not that I am advertising it yet, because it is not quite yet thoroughly tested - but within the next couple of months the Big Pitch Guide will be bringing out it's own dedicated TomTom Satnav complete with large vehicle program and built in Sites Guide.

We all know that these programs are NOT foolproof but with our interactivity we can improve our program on a day-by-day process.

Since May 05 (Ex Tuggers).
I use TT Truck on an 4Gb SD card in our TT720, and for the greater majority of the time, it is superb. Where it doesn't recognise a suitable truck or bus route when planning, I revert to the van option.

A driver's common sense should always prevail though. :winky:

Cheers,

Jock.
