I have just aquired two pairs of 12v electric trumpet horns for the roof of the R.V. Does anybody know if i should wire them through a relay,or would an in- line fuse be OK. :thanks2:

4 and many as a tugger
I would go for a relay and inline fuse. The fuse for overload protection and the relay because you will need a hefty switch to cope with the load of the air compressor.

Hi Martin
The only purpose a relay has is to save having to do the whole circuit in heavy wiring and using a heavy duty switch,
if you want to you can do it without a relay using a suitable fuse as you say

With a relay in the system a lighter cable and switch can be used, needing only a heavier cable for the feed to the relay and the feed to the horns
I am assuming you mean fully electric horns
and not as andyman thought Air powered
