Second time around.
Has anyone got any recommendations for site near London reasonably close to rail access which we could use as a base to spend a couple of days in London, travelling in each day?

LEZ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep out of the inner circle of the M25.. Unless you check your vehicle first, something like £200 a day fine even if you make a "wrong turn" and go in "by accident"..

Sure someone will advise ref sites but thought I would mention the dreaded LEZ..

This is good if you are LEZ compliant.

We keep our van there.

Not the most desirable area in the world but about a 10 minute walk to the train station.

Very well kept site.

Thanks for the replies...but unfortunately

according to the LEZ website, the entire population of London will expire from our fumes if we set wheel inside the zone. How long will it be before everybody has to walk round wearing carbon dioxide scrubbing masks, or oxygen re-breathers so breathing out doesn't cause a problem for others on the pavement?

Nice site but the disadvantage is the cost of going into London.

If you have an LEZ compliant van then Abbey Wood is a good one. If you dont have a compliant van then I would suggest something just on the outskirts of London to minimise the cost of getting into London for the day.

There is a C&CC site in Chertsey too. I think that is outside the LEZ.

I would think about 30 minutes into Central London.

Nice C&cc site in Hertford, regular train service into London and only 5 mins from the A10. Hertford is a very nice small town in its own right with two main line stations.:thumb:
