Since April 1846 but have always camped.
Hi,
Does anyone have any experience of these new antennas please? I currently have a 530 and wondered if I would see any gain over this. Now this next question may seem a bit simple but the first line of the set up instructions tell me to determine if my tv transmissions are horizontal or vertical. How do I determine this?
Many thanks.

Can't remember ;)
I have read the info on it and all it has extra is a signal strength indicator -no better than the 530 really --deffo not worth doing a swap(but if you feel you must I will give you 20 quid for the 530 ::bigsmile:)--- best way to see horizontal etc is look around you (houses preferable) and see if there Ariel are in flat position or on the side :winky:If no house then spin through 360 with it flat and if no signal then do the same with it on edge :thumb:

I have a 530 and use a signal strength meter (about a tenner on eBay). Its still more reliable to look which way/orientation any houses nearby have theres set however.

Im sure I read somewhere about a formula
Find out if the nearest transmitter is a main mast or a repeater mast
Main masts transmit horizontal and repeater masts transmit verticalor

That rings bells with me  but it is still easier to look at nearby houses :winky:
