I used the corner steadies on our van for the first time this weekend and noticed that the grommet was missing from the hole on the offside..

I had a look on the Internet just now and found just one supplier but thought that £28.51 for four bits of rubber was a bit steep.

Anyone know where I can get one at a more reasonable price?

Just a hunch, not sure you could buy one but you could ask for a sample:thumb:

Screwfix have 100, not the right size though, for a couple of quid so £28 odd for 4 sounds a right rip off.:Eeek:

Thanks John. According to the page I found the grommet is 30mm internal diameter, 40mm external diameter and 11mm deep.

I'll be having a root round the garage tomorrow to see if I have anything suitable. I keep so many bits that "might come in useful" that I might be lucky. Failing that I'll maybe take the other one off and take it round a few places to compare.

Is this a 'dynamic' or static grommet ?

If static I'm with the 'squirt the silicone' brigade .. or the gaffer tape mob .. :roflmto:

Other option, strip the sleeve from a bit of heavy cable and slit the sleeve to make one..

and don't go nicking BT cables... I don't want to be accused of encouraging crime ..

or endangering you, so get someone else to use the Stanley knife ..

Thanks Jim. It is just the grommet for the hole through which the winder for the corner steady passes. I was thinking along the lines of a home made one myself.
