We are off to USA. :thumb:
As reported in ARVE magazine Cruise America have bought 3000 new RVs for hire which need to be taken to their depots across the US. They are offering 14 days hire for just 770$ and 55$ a day above that to take the RVs to the required destination. The price includes all insurance and bedding etc. and you do not have to take a direct route. Obviously flights and other accomodation are not included but this is still a very good deal.
We have just booked to take a brand new 30ft C class RV from Chicago to Las Vegas and we are making a 3 week trip plus a few days either side in Chicago and Las Vegas.
Other collection/destinations are still available but almost finished.

Larry they have been doing that for years

Larry Cruise America have been doing it for years they often send RV's back to the Four Winds factory and then offer deals to or from locations. They either discount the rental of off a no mileage rate.. but you can also get some good deals from them if you book when they have a lot of RV's sitting about.. need to avoid places like Miami, Orlando and LA.. but if you go from some of the other locations they do some great one way delivery deals.

I take it you will still have to pay for the comfort pack.. bedding, plates cups etc.,

We have been hiring from them now the better part of 15 years.. Just one word of advice.. check it has got a valid tag.. we got stopped last time out as they had not put it on as the RV was not at the base it was rented from .. cost us a number of hours with police why it was sorted.. we were not allowed to proceed until Cruise America sorted it.

By the way they sell a lot of RV's .. normally higher mileage.. but the RV's (C Class - stopped doing A class) they have up rated floors, heavy duty seating.. but do not come with Awnings or electric mirrors and often just the drivers window is electric... They now paint out the big graphics on the back of the rental fleet.

Have fun.

Bob

sounds good Larry

Sounds good... we had to pay for the bedding pack when we did it.. but it is great to do a one way delivery as you can manage a lot of distance and see more in a shorter time compared to a rent and return. You can also do a rent and buy from them, so you can try it out before you buy.. only issue we had was the awning we wanted had to be loaded indie the RV for fitting over here.. plus they insisted on a heavy lift to move it.. they would not drive it to the docks.. this was to avoid the tax in Florida at that time... But still a cheap unit compared to some we looked at..

Some of the American Harley hire companies do the same sort of deal, giving you discounted hire prices to ride bikes back to other depots. ::bigsmile:
