How do I renew my ADAC (1 Viewer)

Help...... how do I renew my ADAC.. had the renewal form, but cannot read German.

I called ADAC and tried to pay using my Caxton FX card (euro prepaid card) .. ADAC will not accept payment over the telephone using a card?

So what do I do?

Caxton Card

Telephone, ask for english speak person and pay by debit card. It was very straight forward.

no luck so far.. the number was engaged for ages then rung and cut to answer system with music and german announcement ... but not connected to a real person.

will try again tomorrow.

Bob... p.s gave it another go.. ended up with German.. spoke little English .. wanted to know if my car broken down.. finally got to someone who spoke good English they say no ..cannot pay by card?

Debit Card

It might be a misunderstanding regarding the type of card? They do not accept Credit Cards, so suggest you explain it is a Debit Card. We have paid twice this way without any problems.

Call the office in Regensburg - they speak good english and are used to english renewals

hit stone wall.. explained i is not a credit card.. went in to it a long way.. told to send them an email and they will then call me so they can sort it!!!!

How do I renew ADAC

We had the same problem but persevere and they will take your payment ! Even by credit card ! We have paid by credit card for the last 2 years.

The lady we spoke to said she would send the information for ease of payment with a card next time but we left before it arrived !! If it gives anything useful will post when I get back in March. I know that is no help for those renewing before March !!

ps I did e mail the Stephanie contact but e mail was returned and I believe she is no longer there

I did it via the Internet ! Have you heard of that !! And they took my card no. no problem !

Yes resolved.... 3 promised delivery dates that came and went past.. 7 days after the first promised (3day delivery) the batteries arrived ... and yes free... VanBitz refunded... not there fault.. but I did waste a lot of time waiting in for four days (delivered on the fourth promised day).

oh yes, took some time and many phone calls by VanBitz and myself but the batteries eventually arrived.. being fitted this Sunday by son in law... soon as I could get him to do it for me.. to heavy to lift down in to the trap door in the Winnebago floor.

It was a long story as we know.. but Elecsol did come good and honour there offer.. so I am happy.

Thanks for asking.. I did report it on one of the posts so everyone knew it had been resolved.

if you were German and wanted to join the RAC/AA/Green flag by phone (i know, probably UK residents only), how many UK telesales people would understand any German, never mind speak fluently !

thinking of joining ADAC meself this year when my Arrivals expires, and with this list of english speaking sales people mentioned on here i cant see it being a problem :thumb:

I renew by bank transfer. All the required details are on your renewal papers so you can simply copy the details across.
All I have to do is ask my bank for a transfer form then enter details of ADAC IBAN number they then move money & charge me 10 quid. It's secure & you don't have to give your card details.
I have done this twice now & don't mind paying as ADAC is so cheap.

You can also use Google Translate to find the odd word in German if you'r having trouble

ADAC T&C's In English Please?

Hi, it's insurance renewal time again & looking for breakdown cover as well.
Had insurance through Lifesure(with AXA) for a couple of years & breakdown through RAC (Arrivals).
Lifesure asked if I wanted Breakdown as well so hoping I might save money I checked it out. Good cover but NO pets?
So I checked out Arrivals & pets no problem but NO recovery after Accident.
Having looked on here ADAC looks interesting but can't find an English version of T&C's

My understanding is that they will recover the pet or children for that matter back to the UK as unaccompanied .. you do get a lot for the money.

Despite the issues of renewing by Caxton FX I will do the IBAN transfer if I have to.. ADAC say they are sending me a form for the card details.

I know John Roadrunner had an issue about this.. but not sure if he did do it that way or not in the end?
